Weekly Amazon Settlement Review Checklist
A short, repeatable review catches unmatched transactions earlier and leaves a clear record for the next settlement or accountant handoff.
Before starting
Choose one Amazon account, currency, and statement period. Download the statement and, when needed, a transaction report. Save an unchanged copy with the report date and period in its file name.
Weekly review
- Record the period and expected transfer shown on the statement.
- Compare statement sales and refunds with order records; flag unmatched IDs.
- Group fees and adjustments by their statement type, keeping a link back to each source line.
- Check returns that relate to earlier sales and note any expected later adjustment.
- Match the transfer to the bank receipt; mark a transfer in progress separately from an unexplained difference.
- Assign an owner and next action to each open item. Do not silently write off differences.
- Store the reviewed report, reconciliation notes, and approval date together.
For a larger operation, track open items in a table with statement ID, order ID, amount, category, owner, and resolution date. That makes a repeated issue visible without presenting a rough total as a confirmed loss.
